Mom Ireland feeding Scooter as we arrive home with leftover chicken.  A very feisty Scooter loves chicken too!

Hi, everyone.  We hope you had a great weekend!  Just to bring you up to speed…as you know, Norma came home on Wednesday evening, February 27.  On Thursday night, Norma was still pretty active; getting up during the night to want to stay busy.  She did have a decent night's rest overall.  On Friday, Norma and I, brother Ralph and my Mom took Norma out to Chili's for a bite to eat and that was really nice.  Norma, as usual, turned quite a few heads.  However, this time it probably had something to do with her new hairstyle which is growing in nicely.

We pretty much wore her out on Friday by making a couple of stops, so she had a very good night's sleep on Friday night.  Ralph decided to head back to spend the night with Pa Green before he headed back home to Tennessee on Saturday morning.  We will miss Ralph.  He was fantastic in helping out through the tough times with Norma and we will always be indebted to him for the time he shared!  I'm happy to report that Ralph made it home safely on Saturday and now is spending time with his family.

Saturday and Sunday were good days.  We had a lot of family and friends over to say hello and bring food, which will last us for quite a few days.  I don't want to miss anyone so a big thank-you to everyone for helping.

We'll continue to keep you updated as Norma continues to move through the fog to get back to normal.  She does have quite a bit of cognitive dysfunction at this point.  She’s still not quite sure that she had brain surgery, but I think with each passing day she becomes more aware that something was amiss.  We will go in to see Norma's surgeon this coming Thursday to get a new update.  We're also working on making sure that we get her enrolled in a daycare rehabilitation center for cognitive problems which will be Marianjoy Physical Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton.  So again, thanks for the prayers.

We were informed by Dan Pearson, who set up our website for Norma, that the guest book is no longer taking entries since we have a few crazies out there that think that they're cute by responding with some clutter.  So probably should say a few prayers for those idiots, as they probably need them more than the rest of us.  With that being said, it's my understanding that Dan is suggesting that if you have any guest book entries you'd like to make, you can simply make them to me at kenireland2@aol.com and I'll pass them on to Norma.  Again, we appreciate the prayers and thanks again and God bless.  We'll continue to keep you posted.
